The Invention
Introducing the Patented Select/Slurry Solution Technology (S/SST) Fertilizer Formulating & Application Invention
While other fertilizer application methods are antiquated and inefficient, the Select/Slurry Solution Technology (S/SST) invention provides a superior solution with an innovative design and practical functionality.
By eliminating the most common disadvantages from the outdated techniques and equipment most prevalent today, the S/SST invention applies a superior solution at the very root of the plant with unparalleled precision and accuracy while simultaneously giving the most careful consideration to the environment and surrounding ecosystems.
The S/SST came out of this question: "How can you meet the needs of different clients and landscapes within one day?" Before the S/SST invention, you could not custom-blend a primary formulation of the essential nutrients along with added micronutrients and seasonal nutritional supplements tailored to each customer on a single route. The S/SST invention is essentially a formulating laboratory on wheels.
Landscapes come in all shapes, sizes, and conditions. Some healthy landscapes will only require a minimal application of basic nutrients and seasonal supplements. Others will require more progressive applications of additional nutrients and supplements to amend undernourished soils and plants.
But now, you can! The S/SST invention is capable of formulating a precise, computer-generated, and specific fertilizer recipe for all plants on each application site. With the S/SST invention, you can now formulate precise recipes for every customer on the day’s route, delivering a variety of nutrients tailored to each diverse species, seasonal growing phase, and plant health status, while significantly minimizing the impact on the environment.
To achieve this, the S/SST invention carries onboard hundreds of computer-based formulations to satisfy a vast array of nutrient landscape plant needs. No longer do turf, shrubs, trees, flowers, and agricultural plants have to be treated on different visits. The invention allows for the precise formulation and application of all required and desired fertilizer nutrients, regardless of the plant species to be treated, planting arrangement, or the rest of the day's scheduled site visits.
How The S/SST Invention Works
The S/SST invention custom blends on-site fertilizer nutrients and seasonal supplements of all types for a wide variety of horticulture and agriculture conditions. This means that the S/SST can treat both the highly delicate leaf shoots of turfgrass to the hardy and vigorous growing cycles of shrubs, trees, and crops with just one site visit!
To accomplish this groundbreaking result, the S/SST invention formulates (our patent claim #3) onsite the separate essential plant nutrients of nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, other secondary micronutrients, and nutritional seasonal supplements, mostly in a granular pellet form, fine powders, and flowable liquid/gel nutrients. All within a Tyler Mesh Screen particle size range of #6 - #100. Example particle sizes: edible green pea #3.5 / beach sand #28 / fine sand #60 / fine powder #100.

These dry granular pellet forms, powders, and flowable liquid/gel nutrients are stored in their separate on-board sealed hoppers above the specially designed, self-contained induction system. This revolutionizing design allows up to seven different nutritional elements to be precisely mixed according to their recommended proper weight and ratios while simultaneously applied in a slurry solution to the plants.
A custom-designed, telescoping whirl-jet nozzle applicator wand rapidly and accurately applies the essential nutrients of the select/slurry solution with variable velocities without over or under-fertilization of the plants.
An on-board computer system automatically monitors each application, tracking the precise quantity, weight, and ratio balance of each selected nutrient which is evenly maintained through pressurized agitation. This keeps the insoluble nutrients preserved in suspension, attaining a uniform distribution of the soluble nutrients and insoluble granular particles.
No other mechanical spreader or labor-intensive hand placement can distribute a variety of custom blended, slow-release, insoluble granular fertilizers, along with all-natural organic seasonal supplements to turfgrass and the base of shrub and tree beds as evenly, quickly, efficiently, and as accurately as the S/SST invention.
While the incredible precision and labor-saving invention behind the S/SST is truly groundbreaking, there are additional attributes that elevate the invention beyond just another fertilization technique.
Computerized Precision:
An onboard computerized, custom-blending program of primary, secondary, and micronutrients provides the precision that manual weighing and measuring can’t achieve. This includes a wide variety of organic, oceanic, and all-natural plant supplements with primarily all-mineral active ingredients. All without additional and unnecessary weighty carriers, such as sand, clay, and polymer coatings on the active nutritional ingredients.
Regulatory Accuracy:
City, state, and national regulations are ever-changing and have increased restrictions on nitrate applications. The S/SST provides accurate enforcement documentation for regulators as every application is measured precisely to the ounce, all continuously monitored and recorded through GPS tracking. The invention will also provide Geographic Information System (GIS) capability for storing precise map data that will automatically adjust formulations for different city boundaries (zones) to be in complete compliance with each city zone's restrictions that may be dissimilar within a given county standard.
Superior Nutrition:
Due to the unique transportation method, the S/SST provides nutrients that are low in soluble salts, uniform in size, slow controlled released, and 100% available to the plant uptake. The majority of the insoluble granular, slow-release nutrients that stay intact penetrate to the subsurface and are aided by the flushing effect of the aqueous Select/Slurry Solution. The nutrients remain there to release slowly over time systemically through the root system.
Adaptable Design:
The S/SST invention can be adapted in practically any size, from an electric golf cart or propane gas-powered mini utility vehicle with 28,000 square feet treatment capacity to tilt-cab trucks with up to 350,000 square feet capacity. To achieve this adaptability, the larger vehicles will be equipped with a telescoping application boom, covering up to a 22-foot width swath, along with high-tech flotation tires for even weight distribution and minimal impact on large-scale lawns such as athletic fields and golf course fairways.
Due to the invention’s unique mechanical design and revolutionizing on-site formulating technology, operators can judiciously apply fertilizers directly to plants with unparalleled precision, accurately applying only essential nutrients with unsurpassed control. This precision eliminates the application of typically wasted fertilization onto sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and roadways from uncontrollable mechanical broadcast spreader equipment.
In addition, this precision will ultimately give end-user service companies the ability to wean landscapes off of most commonly used synthetic fertilizers and toxic pest controls, allowing soils to be replenished with nature’s essential all-natural minerals and nutrients. This ability to apply all-natural, organic, and oceanic nutrients is the most practical and effective solution to restoring optimum landscape-wide health.
